Success Story: GETECH's SiC Packaging and Testing Factory CIM Solution Ushers in a New Era of Smart Manufacturing
A semiconductor company, focused on the independent R&D and production of third-generation semiconductor SiC automotive-grade power modules, aimed to establish a new factory meeting the goals of "high efficiency, low cost, and high quality." This initiative addressed the growing demand for SiC automotive-grade power in new energy vehicles and the stringent process requirements inherent to production. The objective was to create a smart factory characterized by digitalized and transparent production processes, alongside automated management decision-making.
Based on the new factory's construction plan and existing conditions, GETECH conducted a comprehensive needs assessment of its production management business processes. This assessment covered over 30 modules and more than 200 functions, including master data modeling, raw material management, work order management, operation process management, equipment management, carrier and fixture management, ESOP management, manufacturing exception management, packaging management, quality management, reporting management, PDA management, and interface management. Concurrently, based on the findings, a detailed blueprint solution was designed to ensure the implementation of all business processes within the corresponding systems:
Implementation of a Complete CIM System
GETECH delivered a comprehensive CIM solution specifically designed for semiconductor packaging and testing. This solution integrated seven core systems: MES, EAP, RMS, TMS, SPC, WMS, and RPT. It ensured complete informational connectivity for factory equipment, achieving closed-loop control over the entire manufacturing process, transparent workshop production, agile production response, and real-time inter-departmental collaboration.
Full Business Process Integration
GETECH adopted a user-centric workflow approach, seamlessly connecting various business processes and integrating different systems to achieve unified platform management.
Visual Reporting for Digital Management
GETECH provided a suite of visual reports and dashboards, including production reports, quality reports, equipment reports, and comprehensive production overviews. Production line personnel only need proficiency in the CIM system's operational mode. All production-related tasks undergo systematic closed-loop management, ensuring the accuracy of various production report data and facilitating digitalized, paperless operations.
By implementing the complete CIM system and integrating all business processes, GETECH helped the customer achieve significant results in quality control, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement:
100% Process and Quality Traceability
Through the collection of full-process and quality data, 100% traceability was achieved, establishing a complete product life cycle quality traceability chain.
Cycle Time Reduced by Over 15%
Integrating data from various production stages and eliminating system barriers enabled faster decision-making and improved execution efficiency, reducing Cycle Time by 15%.
Human Error-Related Quality Incidents Reduced by Over 95%
A reduction of over 95% is anticipated for quality incidents caused by human factors such as misoperation, Q-Time timeouts, recipe errors, and incorrect material usage, leading to improved product yield and production capacity.
Equipment OEE Increased by 20%
Through functionalities like EAP, recipe management, equipment maintenance, and repair data management and analysis, equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is expected to increase by over 20%.
