The client is a high-end intelligent manufacturer on panel design, R&D, production and sales, holding a leading position in China. The enterprise hoped to catch up with world leaders on digitalization and intelligence, and required immediate start on all-round digitalization and upgrading to build a fully automated smart factory. The transformation was faced with two major challenges: 1.Rapid software localization The core systems used from production to operations were all foreign software. To break the technical monopoly of software and reduce dependence on foreign manufacturers, it needs independent development of localized software to meet or even exceed standards of foreign software, and ensure stable and efficient production and operations of the enterprise. 2. Digitalization of production and operations management Digitalization of the factory required not only digital systems to support, but also management systems and mechanisms to collaborate, including factory operations models, business processes, and production techniques, etc.. The client hoped to connect various information systems and their data, integrating IT and OT, synchronizing quality indicators and analytics, etc.
Based on the client's industry and product features, GETECH offered a comprehensive solution, covering overall digital planning, and localized system and unified management platform building, to integrate operations and production systems on a platform, unify user interface, standardize business data, improve end-to-end collaboration, introduce innovative IT technologies and applications, and increase standards of the intelligent manufacturing system. 1. Overall planning of the digital factory 8 business processes of the smart factory (operations, marketing, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics, and services) support production and operations management. Given that the level of production management decides its digitalization level, and production management is supported by various business systems, the whole digital upgrade project is planned, built and executed from a production management perspective. Relying on the GETECH’s self-developed APaaS platform, GETECH built a data model and an information interaction model on the production management system, to enable its "logical thinking". Production is controlled by "thinking" with data uploaded from equipment. The important detailed production data recorded by the system can be accessed by the report system for report presentation; key product abnormality and inspection information are collected through the system, available for granular product analysis by the quality analysis system. 2. Localization of production systems Legacy production systems used by factories did not allow domestic enterprises to do technology upgrades, secondary development and transformation, etc., resulting in slow progress in capacity and quality improvement of core business processes through digitalization. By leveraging localized + industrial software familiar to the client for independent development, the enterprise has reached over 90% of localization. Full implementation of the project will ensure the systems to reach top standards home and abroad. 3. G-Fusion, the first unified production platform in China. Legacy production systems were in silos, forcing users to switch across applications at work, reducing efficiency, and relying too much on personal experience, unable to meet the needs of highly digitalized operations. GETECH G-Fusion platform is a unified platform for production operations and management, built based on the production platform to integrate production and management systems for closed-loop management of business processes. 4. Application highlights: Equipment engineering system (EES) GETECH has created the equipment engineering system (EES), aiming at equipment data silos and high equipment management costs in large conventional factories, to manage equipment status and parameters, fine tune parameters and monitor operation status, analyze and predict health status, etc.
